Right into the modern era, blue-and-white Chinese porcelain, in particular, exerted a marked influence on the work of Muslim potters.
The models were luxury items manufactured in China and “tailor made” for the Islamic upper class in large parts of Asia. This huqqa, or water pipe, was made especially for the Indian market.
