The David Collection is situated right by Kings Garden and close to both Kongens Nytorv and Nørreport in Copenhagen. It is therefore easy to get to the museum via public transportation just as it is a nice walk or bike ride from most of the central Copenhagen.
Train: take the S-train or regional train to Nørreport or Østerport Station.
Metro: Both Nørreport Station, Marmorkirken Station and Kongens Nytorv Station are all close to the museum.
Bus: Find your way on Rejseplanen and DOT – Public Transport in and around Copenhagen
Car: Acces to paid public parking in the neighborhood
We kindly ask you to observe the museum’s rules for visitors:
Do not touch the works of art.
Photography is permitted, but not with a flash or tripod.
Food and drink may not be consumed in the museum.
Please do not use mobile phones for conversation.
Large bags are not allowed into the museum.
Lockers are available and tokens are available to borrow.
Instructions from the custodians must be followed at all times.
The museum is not easily accessible to the walking-impaired, since the David Collection is located in historical buildings that have many flights of stairs.
Because of the museum’s layout in two historical buildings, visitors may unfortunately not use wheelchairs or rollators. The elevator will not function in case of fire, and no staff would be available to help evacuate the walking-impaired.
Lockers are available and are locked with a token, you can borrow at the reception.
The toilets are found on plan 0 next to the cloakroom and on the 4th floor.
The Islamic collection is of practical considerations dimly lit. If you want to make sure that you can read all the labels in this part of the museum, we recommend borrowing one of our info-tablets.
For more than 100 of the Islamic artworks the info-tablet furthermore includes an audio guide.
You can borrow an info-tablet free of charge at the reception.
