Rainbows and Dreams -
Turkish and Kurdish Folk Music
Fuat Talay og Cahit Ece
Two childhood friends, Fuat Talay and Cahit Ece, play Turkish and Kurdish music. The two musicians cultivate a variation of musical landscapes in which Anatolian folk music is at times seasoned with Sufi and Alevi music. In this music, traditional tones and melodies merge on various ethnic instruments and a soft, delectable, intense sound strikes the audience.
Fuat Talay plays the ‘baglama’ and in 2008 released the album “Sufisticated,” which was subsequently nominated for a Danish World Award. In 2011, he released the album “Oh Romeo.” Cahit Ece plays the ‘kaval’ and ‘balaban’ and released the CDs “Berya” in 2002, “Feryad” in 2009, and “Nalin” in 2015.
